I have been teaching piano, voice and guitar for many years alongside my positions as Director of Music and Head of Arts in schools in South Africa, Oman, Germany and Austria. I recently married and moved to Dublin where I have been teaching Music Theory, Piano and Voice. I am a choral conductor and adjudicator and my choir from South Africa were World Champions in Folklore art the World Choir Games in 2000 and 2004 among many other International accolades. I am proficient in television performances and organising large scale concerts and performances. I have a passion for developing the best out of my students and seeing them develop into excellent musicians and performers.

I have been teaching singing for over 20 years, I teach in schools, teach one to one, lead choirs both community and more specialist. My ladies Acappella choir is award winning and I still regularly perform and compete myself. I am passionate about everyone who wants to being able to sing, and having fun as they discover their voice, learning to sing well and then loving to sing for life.

I am a highly respected and prominent multi-instrumentalist and singer. I have had chart success as an artist and played and sang every style of music in every situation from tours and festivals to television and musical theatre across the globe. In 2019 I wrote, produced and sang three number one records in the USA.

I have worked as a piano and voice teacher for twenty years alongside a career as an accompanist and coach. I am a vocal coach at the Royal Academy of Music and Music Director for Opera projects at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and I can therefore coach Piano and Voice to Conservatoire level. I have also taught at the Hill House International Prep School in Knightsbridge (1995 to present) preparing the pupils for exams and concerts. I have been training singers in Germany for some years in online lessons and so I am well acquainted with teaching in this way. I also have a private teaching practice preparing students for ABRSM grade exams from 1-8.

I consider myself to be an eclectic musician meaning I appreciate and enjoy ALL styles of music. I have more than 20 years of performing, coaching, teaching, providing workshops, adjudicating all styles of singing that range from classical to pop to gospel to rock and much more. My purpose is to make sure that each student achieves success based on what he or she wishes to succeed. But most important, I seek to make sure my students develop a love and passion for music which will allow them to become individuals filled with enthusiasm, motivation and willingness to enjoy life, family, friends, but especially themselves.

I began in the entertainment business when I was 7 years old and appeared in the British Movie Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush in 1967. After trying several proper jobs I discovered that I was actually “allergic” to real work and at a very young age I decided to become a musician. I studied Musical Theater and acting for 4 years at the University Of Hertfordshire in the UK and subsequently acted in several UK TV shows and movies including The Young Americans with Harvey Keitel and Judge Dredd with Sylvester Stallone. I am an award-winning writer of Musical Theater winning the Vivian Ellis Best Composer Award along with my co-writers in 1996. My shows have been staged in the West End of London at the London Palladium and Her Majesty’s Theatre. In 1990 I wrote the million-selling hit single Dirty Cash/Money Talks, which got to number 1 in the UK charts and number 25 in the US Billboard. I have also had two number ones in the Billboard Club Chart. In 1993 Simon Cowell signed me as an artist to his Arista label in London. Three months later the label went into receivership. I often wonder what happened to that Cowell chap! I was subsequently signed to BMG then Sony records as a vocalist for the band Surreal Madrid. Sir Paul McCartney produced one of the Surreal Madrid tracks. A month later I had the privilege of singing back up vocals for Paul at a Buddy Holly tribute gig in Trafalgar Square London. My good friend Dean Collinson then invited me to join his newly formed backing agency and my first gig was to sing back up for the Spice Girls. I teach vocals in a fun and educative way. I offer the full Pop Star experience. As well as instructing students in the techniques of vocal production I also teach them about the recording process, song writing and performance. I record all my students and we are constantly in production working on and recording new songs. I am happy to teach Musical Theater, Rock, Pop and R&B. I am not a “cookie cutter” vocal coach. I understand that we are all different and techniques that work for one person may not work for another. I work on a student’s uniqueness and individuality so no two lessons are exactly the same. Two years ago one of my students Whitney Lynn Smith got through to the first round of American Idol. She is now working on her first CD in Nashville Tennessee. Another of my student’s Élan is just about to sign with Sony EMI. Mary Rose has been signed to One Source Talent in New York and 19-year-old male vocalist Jay Todd who has been a student of mine for about 6 months has just signed a development deal with Atlantic Records in Boston. I am a voice coach and have developed a technique to open & tune-up the voice/body instrument for over 25 years. I am originally from California but teach alot in Europe as well. Edita Randová is a renowned Czech mezzo-soprano and experienced vocal teacher with an international opera and concert career. I started my music journey over sixteen years ago when I started taking piano lessons at the age of five. Since then, I have gained experience in guitar, bass, drums, vocals, theory, and music production. Some of my most notable works were when I performed in two of Southeast Missouri State University's major productions during their 2015 season as a member of the children's ensemble: "The King and I" and "Seussical the Musical." Now, I am a budding music producer in the local music scene. In addition, I have been a staple in my local parish's music ministry as one of their cantors and keyboardists.
