I am a versatile and experienced music educator and performer. Over the course of my musical career I have had the privilege of working in a variety of musical styles and venues, including: The Edinburgh Fringe with 'Saxtet'; The Derngate with Northhampton Symphony Orchestra; The Killerton Festival with The Drifters; Butlins with a variety of acts including Bucks Fizz and Jackie Graham; Sanctuary AG, Chicago as a solo singer/songwriter; and many more. I was a "Search for a Star" national finalist, 2001 and in the same year played Lieutenant Cable in South Pacific at the Embassy Theatre, Skegness. Up until February 2015 I lead many music departments at secondary level teaching GCSE and BTEC Level 2 with considerable success in helping his students to become productive musicians with a love for music. I consider my greatest educational achievement to be the Director of Specialist Music Status at William Lovell CE School. My main instrument is bass, trained at Birmingham Conservatoire, and offers both electric and double bass as a skilled reading player. I am able to accommodate most musical styles. In addition I am an accomplished singer, guitarist and pianist. I have been known to play in pit on percussion as well and can even play the Tuba!

During and since completing my Bmus in popular music (electric guitar) and Classical guitar (ABRSM diploma) I have had over 10 years experience working and tutoring kids and adults in an educational setting. From this I have learned that patience, enthusiasm and organisation are key to getting the best out of a person. I am a professional guitarist with over 20 years of experience in playing live and as a session musician. In addition, I have been teaching guitar and piano for over 10 years in schools and colleges. I am Alexandre de Orio, music teacher from Brazil. I have a bachelor's dgree in Music and 3 post-graduation's degree in Music. I am Music Director in a School of Rock in Brazil. I was invited twice by Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music in India. I released a book about Brazilian Rhythm applied to Metal Guitar. I also released a pedagogical board game for string instrumentalists. Marco William Duranti has been described as “a versatile musician, a classical guitarist who likes to look outside his window”. The gift of composition has led him to seek ideas outside the normal parameters of the classical guitar. His principal aim has always been to create new compositions for the classical guitar, rather than adaptations of music from other instruments or sources. He says “I like to implement and adapt ideas from the outside, mould them and make them a property of the guitar, rather than make the guitar a property of the transcription". At the same time, Duranti turns this idea on its head by taking ideas that come from the guitar and adapting them to other musical contexts. This is frequently his method in composing film scores or rock music. This approach comes from his early learning and family roots: his family were artist-artisans and had, as friends, opera, rock and classical musicians, painters and sculptors. He has an enduring love of 60's and 70's music of various styles, including the most beautiful period of classical music recordings. Duranti says he does not seek originality in music, but believes in the uniqueness of a composition stemming from many factors, including the character and ability of the performer. Duranti’s ideas are underpinned by a solid practical and theoretical education: he describes a “progressive and passionate study of music theory and the guitar” at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto under John Perrone and later in Rome under Mario Gangi. As a schoolboy, he also learned to play the blues from a street musician, giving him another perspective on the guitar. Duranti’s music career has suffered challenges and interruptions which have obliged him to explore new directions. He has made many original recordings, ranging from classical guitar to rock concept albums, and film music. He performed extensively in Italy for many years. Duranti says “this long journey is not over yet - I hope I will be able to produce more works and hopefully leave something worth mentioning!”
