About Shahani Anita

I am a self-motivated, professional and courteous individual with an optimistic professional attitude. Well effective in communication and interaction with children to achieve high targets in the education firm. Capable of working on own initiative to uplift children performance in education. I have completed Music graded examinations conducted by Trinity College of Music - London in Piano, Theory of music and Vocals with successful results. I worked as a music teacher for primary and secondary school children in an International School in Colombo Srilanka for over a period of 6 years. I have experience in building up vocal abilities of young children and using fun activities to make the lessons interesting and enjoyable. I am also well trained and experienced in teaching both normal and special needs children using modern technology and resources to perform interesting musical activities. Specially trained in teaching songs and singing activities to special needs children and children with learning disabilities in order to bring out their best talents and improve them using musical activities. I have also trained choirs for Competitions, concerts and festivals, where my children were awarded with gold medals. I am a registered teacher at the Trinity College of Music - London (Srilanka Branch) where I train and apply children for Music Examinations in Piano, Theory of music and Vocals. I enjoy music and I make the class environment more enjoyable for all my students as music should be felt in the heart and I believe that all students need the freedom to perceive their own talent in Music.
